Nixie Tubes

It’s lucky for me the best son has no interest in blipping or I wouldn’t be able to post this. This clock arrived today, it’s a surprise for his 21st birthday next week. The base is 3D printed with a smoked inset so you can see some of the workings and 6 Nixie tubes. Nixie tubes were used in 1950’s and 1960’s and feature in a clock in the film Tomorrowland. Mr J was pleased when we found Bad Dog Designs, who made the clock, exhibiting at Grand Designs last year and bought his. They also make unique clocks from vintage and found items and produce some wonderful commission pieces as well.
