Not the shot I wanted

I went on a phalarope hunt today and had all of a ten second view of one. Hence I had to content myself with a juvenile Common Gull. Probalby one for a gull connoisseur and certainly won't bring the crowds back to birding but it has an understated elegance, unlike the rotting seaweed on which it was feeding.
An afternoon in the garden and all my cuttings are now in place ready to grow pridigiously over the rest of the summer......
