Taking The Back Road
Last night was spent in Kurow famous for being where a successful All Black Captain Richie McCaw played rugby as a little boy. His parents farmed in the Hakataramea Valley which we drove through today. It is broad valley with a very good gravel road. The roads climbs to the Hakataramea Pass at 965 mts. We had a cup of tea from the thermos and enjoyed being in another almost wild place. The locals like to shoot holes in the sign posts.
Then it was down the other side and turning back onto the main highway and headed to Christchurch. Adventures are now over for a wee while.
