Caledonian Canal and the lock at Dochgarroch. Some misty rain hanging about in the distance, over the Great Glen and Loch Ness.
When the Lock Keeper filled the lock and opened the upstream gates, I waited in the hope of catching some interest in the shape of a boat coming into the lock. Alas she was just trying to fish some items out of the area of those gates. Nothing moving about on the canal, as it's still closed to all boat traffic.
The Blip not taken today, and the reason for being in town shortly after seven this morning, was the opening of the barbers around the town. After seeing the double figures of gents queuing before the 7:30 am opening time, I went for a cycle about. A look at the new swing bridge works at Tomnahurich, and then a saunter along the canal bank to the above Dochgarroch; a look at the weir and River Ness beyond here; and cycle back on the other (better surfaced) bank of the canal.
Back at the barbers, the queue was much smaller, at about six folk, so I joined it for the very much needed cropping. What a difference. Cycle helmet feels much less tight now. Then did a little shopping, which including purchasing for the first time since about last November, some loo rolls. There were loads. Seem to remember there was a panic about them a few months ago, for some reason or other...
