Rose Cottage

Today we had lunch at the Dog and Doublet, walked along the canal, around the water park and back to the pub. On the way I revisited some Family History locations. I had never found this cottage before. Today I could see it through the trees of the park, and was able to follow a drive and find it. It must have been a very quiet place to live before the M42 was built.

My relative, Thomas Allen, lived here in 1901. He may have lived here a lot earlier, in the 1880s, but precise addresses were not given on documents. The canal was nearby. Sadly he lost his life there in 1911.
