Tortoise shell

We had to draw/cut up/reassemble, in order to make recurring patterns. Too late, I realised a) I hadn't done it on proper watercolour paper and b) I should have started off with a square piece of paper to get the recurring patterns to be symetrical. So much to learn, so little time. The tortoise shell was at the Grant museum a couple of weeks ago.
