Prohibido el paso

Back in Taos tonight.  In addition to the terrible heat, smoke (from forest fires )and sand (from sandstorms) filled the air in Albuquerque so much so that we were warned not to go outside!  Outside and up north to Taos we headed. to swim in the Rio Grande  Once again we were the only people staying in the Inn.

This abandoned bridge sits just below one of our swimming holes.  When the sun is out and beating down mercilessly, we can find respite in the shade of the bridge where a sandy beach has formed now that the river is low.

Extras #1 shows the river downstream of the bridge.  You can tell it's low, but one can always find a place deep enough to swim.
