Tomato Moth/Brown Line Moth
or Brown Eye Moth (Lacanobia oleracea). I have never noticed this moth before. When I lifted the wheelie bin lid it was there hiding under the lip. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be the gardener's friend since its caterpillars munch away enjoying many vegetables and flowers including tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber, sweet peppers, brassicas, shrubs and some tree leaves!
Another visit to town for a eye-scan checkup I have every year. Masks were more evident and I felt slightly safer wearing them in shops which will soon be the rule. Hand sanitisers everywhere and shop assistants on duty directing customers. It was so wonderful visiting Boots and M & S food hall after so long! The people walking in the streets were very hushed and there was no through-traffic and the taxi rank was completely empty.
