One of those days!

Hi all

I apologise for this image which really is nothing special, it truly has been one of those days.

I started the day with what I thought was going to be a 5 minute job. I had bought a new Brabantia Rotary Clothes Drier which was supplied with a supporting ground spike to mount it in. Easy I thought, just bang it into the lawn in the rear garden and the job is done. Was that the case....NO!

Oh yes, the ground spike went into the ground quite easily but as I gave it the last tap with the mallet there was a crack followed by the sound of running water. Not good! So the rest of the day I have been digging a large hole (think grave size) in what was a very nice lawn in my rear garden.

I found the leak, fortunately it is not a supply pipe but what would appear to be an old water drainage pipe but therein is another issue. Just what is it? After some investigation I found it is not connected to my home or gladly, that of my immediate neighbours so I have spent hours today trying to get advice and help from the Water Company, the Local Council and done my best to contact the previous owners spanning back 20 years. Not easy and I end the day quite frustrated. this is going to take some days, maybe weeks, to sort out and I am left at the moment with a huge hole and mess outside.

I'm truly shattered and covered head to toe in mud so need a very long hot shower followed by a very large G&T.

Only thought of the image at the very last minute so the only good part of the day was the sunset. Shame I could not get somewhere nice to capture it, I only had time to run indoors for my camera when I climbed out of my newly dug hole for the last time today and noticed it.

I trust, and hope, that you all have had a much better day.
