Maimed Gull
This poor, unfortunate juvenile gull was trying to come into the house via the french window from the garden. As the photo shows, its left wing was no longer of any use and it could not fly. Having tried unsuccessfully to find specialist help for it, there was nothing I could do but to put it over the back wall into the field, where it wandered down to the bottom. I don't think it will have much chance of surviving long, but it is found the old mill pond down there it might have increased its chances.
It has been another grey, wet day waiting in for the fish delivery that eventually arrived mid-afternoon, leaving just enough time for a walk on Wharncliffe Edge and through the woods.
