I have been helping out at the hospice furniture store a bit more these last few weeks while they catch up with their annual leave.

Usually I go out with the regular team on the van to collect donations and deliver purchases. On Sunday night some people broke into the compound where the van is store and removed the catalytic convertor. Theft of catalytic convertors from vans is seemingly quite common. The thieves saw through the exhaust system either side of the convertor which can then be sold for the precious metals which they contain. They can hope to get about £100. The cost of replacing it is well over £1000. And then there is the additional cost of hiring a rental van.
