Catching the bus

The bus goes from opposite the post office. It can take you to Prades, the local town seven miles away, or to Perpignan, the principle city in the department, 40 miles away. However far you go it costs 1 euro. You can even choose to take the train from Villefranche to Perpignan. Again the cost is 1 euro. These one euro buses and trains operate on many routes in the department. If you live in a remote valley you can dial up for the one euro minibus and book it on given days. This is a very enlightened policy to keep traffic off the roads.
