The next urgent issue was to replace the guttering feeding the two water butts. Failure to do so would mean that all the rain falling on the roofs of the rear two thirds of the house would run down the back wall and not wishing to be unkind, it doesn't really look as though it could cope awfully well with that kind of treatment. It also didn't look as though it wanted to be drilled and fixed very much either and so we devised this lean-to guttering on stilts which works surprisingly well, and this is it in the process of being tested.
