Half a flower

Something is eating these flowers and some others where they are leaving half the flower.    I have looked but can't find anything so I am supposing it is a moth or something that comes out at night.

Another hot day here in the south.   However, we are heading up to the mountains on Monday for #1 son's 46th birthday.  Just an over-nighter but I hope to convince Jerry to go the scenic route on the Blue Ridge Parkway from Asheville.   There are some short hikes on this stretch that we can get out and walk a bit.   Since my son will be working we can take most of the day to make this drive!     And the temperature is much cooler in the mountains!!
