Flour Friday
Friends, neighbours, supermarkets – lend me your ears (of wheat)
My baking obsession started just before Lockdown when supplies were plentiful.
Then came the seven lean years (my goodness, but we are mixing literature) and shortages resulted in desperation shopping.
Fortunately, our good friends and neighbours came to our rescue, spotting supplies and delivering them through the plague window.
Now I have all sorts of brands and grains in every possible combination, and can bake again quite contentedly.
The star of today’s show is a 50/50 strong white/rye loaf.
And a triumph of a sandwich!
