“Thistle Heaven”

Discovered by Zion, who protected us from the Thistle Monster.

I’ve never learned so much from a 4 year-old and a 6 year-old. About plant species, clouds, birds of prey, medieval weaponry...and about God too. Walking along with Allegra, chatting about our favourite things about God. There’s an awareness at 4 years of age, of God being right beside us in this moment. And when we take a step forward on our walk, He’s still all around us in this moment, too. An awareness that tends to become more clouded over, as I find myself living more in the worries and responsibilities of the future. No wonder Jesus wants us to become more like little children.

Gratefuls:
- The best kind of morning - pancakes, bacon, maple syrup and blueberries, followed by a time of common prayer together.
- fresh countryside air, wide open spaces, being able to walk
- the example of the couple staying in the cabin next door
- the warmth of the hot tub in the cool of the evening
- a nice walk with Paul before dinner
- kids who enjoy “would you rather” as much as I do!
- the chance to see Julia and Tom again - I thought the last time would be the first and the last, while I’m in England this time! Time to get to know them, beyond an introduction.
