The Pursuit of Peace
Had an interesting conversation this afternoon, with a guy trying to sell me a book on Bhakti yoga and Hare Krishna mantra meditation. He stopped me because I “looked spiritual”. I wonder what looking spiritual looks like, and how many other people “look spiritual” too. It was a good conversation starter anyway - a gateway into finding out what spirituality meant for him, what he was looking to find through his journey. One of the biggest things for him was peace. We talked about the person of Jesus - the only lasting source of peace in my life. He seemed to have a lot of respect for Jesus. I hope he knows Him personally someday.
Gratefuls:
- that we can know Jesus personally. The peace that knowing Him brings, without the need yet for our lives to be perfect!
- that He sought us out. That it’s not up to us to reach Him.
- FaceTime with my beautiful friend Melissa, all the way in California. Hearing of the things that God has been saying her. Her enthusiasm for life, the brightness of her personality and depth of her love for Jesus. Thank you Lord for this absolute gem!
- a lovely FaceTime with my parents too - and the prospect of seeing them in the not-too-distant future!
- meeting Nora again, a lady from Cork.
- Rebekah’s best friend Emily being able to get married tomorrow!
- late evening bargains on bread from the reduced section
