Pacifying Client

A bit of a difficult newly-allocated client in Brazil got all stern faced about me miscalculating the time difference yesterday for our first get-to-know-each-other session . . . 'I'm a busy man', he said . . . well, who isn't busy and human at the same time, I thought. I was tempted to say two short words but, needing the money, looked for an angle to get a smile out of him. I asked about his interests. 'Old cars', he said, still not smiling. Cue a swivel of the iPad out the window to introduce him to Françoise, our Citroen 2CV or Dos Caballos! She worked her charm on him, and it was all sweetness and light to the end of the session.
