Glamping pods a “big hit”
These glamping pods in Bridge of Allan have been full since the day they opened, and have confounded all local expectations.
Yes I admit I was amongst the cynical who said, when we saw the planning application, “ why would anyone want to holiday in that field up the road?”
We have been proved wrong.
Of course that was all pre-pandemic. Now with so many of us forced into staycation holidays this summer, self catering holiday lets, camping, caravanning and glamping pods have become the flavour of the month.
Some friends left today for a remote corner of Scotland, Ardnamurchan, the most westerly point on the British mainland, further west than Penzance, for a week in a self-catering cottage.
And it’s fully booked until the end of the season.
