Altrincham 3 Chester FC 2

The season has finally ended for Chester as they were beaten 3-2 at Altrincham in the play-off eliminator despite an heroic performance. 3-0 down after 59 minutes and reduced to 10 men after having a player sent off they dominated the remainder of the game and pulled it back to 3-2 but couldn't get the equaliser.

Thanks to technology I was able to watch the game on a streaming service and then mirror the game from my laptop to the TV. 

While defeat is disappointing a large part of me thinks that this will work out best in the long run. Over the last 6 weeks Chester fans have raised an astonishing £130,000 to boost the player budget for next season and  contribute to the covid testing. This has created an amazing feel-good factor and with a great performance and a sense of injustice over the penalty and sending off I think we are now in a good position to press on next season.
