A Sunny Day!
Woke up to glorious sunshine this morning!
I had coffee in bed with the porthole curtains open so I could see the bright blue sky and the trees swaying in the breeze.
It made me smile after looking at greyness and rain for so long.
This lovely moth came on board for a visit - anyone know what kind it is - Dreich? Debbi?
When I was younger I was terrified of moths or anything else flying around like daddy-long-legs, butterflies, wasps.
When I was a teenager my Dad was giving me a lift to work and as soon as we set off along our road a big moth started flying round me. I was hysterical and Dad wouldn't/maybe couldn't stop. I opened the window and put my head and shoulders out and was shouting 'Stop! Let me out! Stop! Let me out!!! When he was able he did stop and got rid of the moth. People must have thought I was being kidnapped or something :-D
I'm happy to say that nothing much scares me now. When my kids were small they were going on a school trip to the Butterfly Kingdom and they ask me to volunteer as a parent to help out.
I was really scared but I went anyway. Butterflies were flying round me and landing on me so gently. I overcame my fear and loved the experience.
These days I am fascintated by the lives of all creatures and enjoy watching them go about their daily lives.
We had a lovely day pottering about and Eddie the signwriter - who painted the 'Fiddlesticks' name on our boat - popped by for a SD visit. We had coffee and chatted for quite a while. Eddie always has lots of tales to tell and when he and Frank get together they spark each other off on their stories.
Bella May adores Eddie and leans against him enjoying the attention.
This afternoon we came back to the house for tonight as I have a prescription to collect tomorrow and also needed to tend the tomato plants and the garden. I harvested some carrots, new potatoes, broad beans, all of which we had for tea. I also pulled out a few onions and laid them in the sun to cure. Not that these ones will be stored.
There was post for Frank - one a parcel from China containing a pair of 'Ray Ban' sunglasses (haha!) he doesn't know who sent them as he certainly didn't order them - wierd! He checked hos account and nothing had gone off.
Another was an invite to take part in a Covid-19 testing research study from DHSC/Imperial College London/NHS.
He wasn't sure whether it was one of those scams but I don't think it is...
Another was a demand from the bailiffs for £91 from an unpaid electricity bill from 2 years before we moved here!
I'm starting a new book today! Sea of Memories by Fiona Valpy. I'd never heard of her but it starts off well and I also have the next 2 in the series. Looking forward to bedtime!
Hope you've all had a good weekend.
Thanks for all the stars, hearts and comments Blippers and Facebookers! :-) X
