Nasturtiums
As well as being highly ornamental, nasturtium flowers and leaves give a crisp, peppery taste to salads, as well as some great colour. The seedpods look very similar to capers and taste similar and are often called poor man’s capers.
This backlit evening shot taken just before the sun dipped below the hedge brings out the the brilliant yellow of these blooms.
