Complex Clouds

I was getting something out of the garage this evening and noticed this unusual cloud formation which changed my blip. I spent a day in the garden, partly reading the paper but spending most of the time starting to remove an old and well established shrub with a thick trunk and chunky roots. The branches are all off - filled one wheelie bin with the rest in bags to fill it again. I've decided to change part of the side garden into a small wildlife garden in the Autumn, but I'm removing large shrubs past their best now as I will fill lots of bins.

Day 126 / Full Day 118 of Lockdown / Day 16 of Step 3 (for my record only)
UK deaths up 27 to 45,300 with new daily cases up by 726. PHE has calculated that if they calculated Covid-19 deaths using the same methodology as the other UK nations, England's deaths would fall by 4,149, almost 10%. The WHO says there was a record increase of 259,848 virus cases yesterday, with daily deaths rising by 7,360 which is the highest no. since 10th May. It's reported that during lockdown there were an extra 1,750 deaths from strokes, heart attacks and other cardiac issues. There have been thousands of virus mutations, but one particular one makes the virus more infectious and is thought to have appeared in Italy and is now dominant. Ten emergency Nightingale courts are being set up to catch up on court cases held up by lockdown. John Lewis, Rightmove and Compass have followed Primark's lead in not taking up the Govt. job retention bonus - well done!

The Public Health Director of Blackburn with Darwen has said that only 50% of people who've been in contact with someone testing positive have been reached by contract tracers. He called for Test & Trace to be carried out at a local not National level, which I agree with. A call centre carrying out CV contact tracing in North Lanarkshire is reported as being investigated as a Covid-19 cluster! I've finally read an article on different studies saying what I've noticed and commented on, that men are heeding advice / following rules less that keep us safe re the virus. This includes wearing masks (half as likely as women to wear one), washing hands regularly (only 52%) and following one way walk routes. The gender difference disappears where masks are mandatory.
