Annie's In Oregon

Richmond, Virginia

This day began along side peaceful pastures at Briar Patch Bed & Breakfast in Northern Virginia. From there, we drove to Richmond where many statues stood as memorials to the confederacy, and many protesters with the Black Lives Matter movement had left colorful marks on them, and a small group of protesters hung around the bottom of the statue of Robert E Lee, but generally, the town was going about their business, kind of a quiet tour of Richmond. I vacillated about posting a picture from our tour of Richmond, but all the shots were through a car window, and honestly, this horse walking away was my best shot of the day.
It was surreal to drive around with my cousin as tour guide, and a very good historian, looking at all these huge statues, which I suspect many of you have seen in the news, and then see them being removed in the news a week later.
May Richmond have peace. The locals are beautiful people.
