My mum.

This picture sits in our lounge. It is a black and white photo of my mum who died when I was in my early twenties, just before I was married. She missed our wedding and the birth and childhood of my children. I often wonder how life would have been if she had been there for them. Grandparents have a crucial place in a child's life.
My brother has the same picture but his is beginning to fade. I sent him a photo of my picture so he has it digitally. Like her memory this picture will not fade
Grateful for happy memories of my mum. For reflections on the role of grandparents and for my children who are now grown and having children of their own.
