Summertime

... and the living is easy. Virus? What virus?

It was too hot to go to the beach today. So after my relatively brief swim (6 people today!) we packed up a picnic and headed for our favourite river spot in St Laurent. Unfortunately since our last visit at least a year ago the council has banned every kind of river-related activity and put up a barrier to stop you driving down there, complete with fines for parking on the track approaching it. The track is narrow and there were half a dozen cars parked along it. So one very awkward 30-point turn later, we headed for Lagrasse. It was crowded and noisy; we didn't try the water, but it was a good enough spot for a late lunch and dessert was an ice cream on the promenade.

Later I superheated the kitchen/living room by baking bread and we cooled off with glasses of rosé.
