Busy Bees
Went with Rebecca and her girls to Batley to get the kit they need for their intense dance sessions at Northern Ballet Academy in August . They are both on the CaT scheme there ( Certificate of advanced Training ) and the new term will begin in September, how because of Covid we are not really sure but we do know it is going ahead.
Verity needed pointe shoes, soft block ( demi pointe) shoes, two pairs of ballet pumps, three pair of tights, a navy leotard, a navy unitard and the official tracksuit.
Kitty needed new ballet pumps, a pale blue leotard and a tracksuit.
Fitting ballet shoes is a serious business and we filled every minute of the hour we had booked.
We had the shop to ourselves.
I won’t even mention what the total bill came to but it made me wince.
Before Covid l had bought the girls tickets to see the ballet as part of their Christmas presents. It was cancelled and l got a refund so l bought the pointe shoes in lieu.
I’ve put a couple of extras on to show their new gear.
When l got home the lavender hedge was filled with bees and wasps but no butterflies, last year it was full of them.
