Four Go Adventuring

They arrived by boat, 
I think.

Excited, perhaps,
to explore a new land.

I wonder if they felt fear
during their journey.

Did it occur to them
that the boat might sink.

What stories must they have heard
about life here.

Do they perceive this
as a land of opportunity.

They must have some concerns
about what they will find.

Have they fled from something.

Do they already miss
what they’ve left behind.

Has the sensible one
brought sandwiches
and a flask.

They are too far from me
or I would call out
and ask.
