Making hay while the sun shines

Driving out for a seashore walk this morning we took a detour. There's a croft along the way, where hay is made a different way. After cutting, it's hung over frames to dry in the sun. This in place of the modern method of leaving it on the ground, and turning it from time to time.

Obviously it might be different if you were dealing with a very large acreage.
