Camouflaged Looper
More weird and wonderful from the garden. Tonight is the Camouflaged Looper. We have some blazing star flowers in full bloom and covered in various bees, butterflies and moths. While trying to capture that perfect bee photo I notice the flower was moving where there were no insects. Closer inspection revealed a caterpillar which covers itself in bits of flower petal to avoid being eaten by passing birds. Despite the bits of flower the larvae is still ugly. I think I prefer the spiders.
