Over the Hill

A full on day - Joe was going on an expedition to Nelson, did we want to come. We did. As I've mentioned before, going out of Golden Bay involves going over the Hill - a torturous route over a huge mountain, half of which was swept away in a storm and repairs are ongoing. We were accompanied by this colossal rainbow for most of the route. Joe said it had been in evidence since about 7.30am!
We were allowed coffee and huge cakes at Toad Hall then proceeded to shop - mainly, it has to be said, for Esme. I purchased her a digger truck for her sandpit, some peg doll people, a rather cool wooden farm set and some rather blingy bracelets! Also she has been intrigued by pictures in her books of little girls with bows in their hair - and dogs with the same. I know, nonetheless she now has one! I will be very surprised if it goes where it should. Joe had a splurge on shrubs and pots to show of the newly decorated blue of his house.
