George's Mini Market Stare, Whistable
My brother's redundancy saga has officially come to end in exactly the way he predicted. His employers didn't change his scores, didn't really bother to look into his appraisals from previous years and, in the end, didn't really seem to care about him as a person. To put the cherry on the cake they sent him an e-mail regarding his severance payments which was also wrong and too low. All positively lovely!!!
So, today we decided to pop down to the rather fantastic Whistable for a micro trip. Once we had parked the car we went to the wonderfully atmospheric pub the Old Neptune right on the beach where I took the first extra "The Old Man & The Sea". It was quite blowy but we sat outside and drank a nice cold beer looking at the striking sea view. It was totally joyous and very relaxing. After a wee wander down the atmospheric lanes (where I took the second extra "The Show Off)" we decided we needed another sit down and to have a read of the papers, and in my case, another pint!
I took today's main shot on the way back to the car across a busy street - I just loved this man's intense stare and how it contrasted with the jolly seaside background. By the time we got back home the combination of sea air, beer and tiredness from being at work the previous three days hit me like a brick and I was out like a light for a couple of hours, much to my brother's bemusement/amusement. Still, we both had a great time and we can't wait to go back again.
