Sally Mair - Loving life

The flowers sent for my birthday by my wee sister have lasted well, over two weeks.

Today was another wet day, but a very busy one for me.
I started at 9am with a board meeting, via Zoom of course. I really don't do 9am meetings any longer, I barely do 9am for that matter! This one though was quite productive and lasted until almost 11. I then shot down to the shops and picked up some rolls for lunch as Katy, Jon and the girls were coming. To help with social distancing, I put a travel rug on the floor and they all sat there having their lunch as an indoor picnic, thus allowing the adults to stay 2m 'ish away from Nana which would have been more tricky if we'd all tried to sit at the table. Jings you have to be creative sometimes!

I offered the girls some money to buy an ice cream next time they were somewhere nice on a hot, sunny day. I was gobsmacked when they politely turned it down as their other nana had sent them unicorn ice lolly moulds so they wouldn't need to buy ice lollies ... but thank you anyway Grandma...! I didn't know what to say. Mummy however took control at this point and decided it might come in handy if they were somewhere away from home and didn't have their unicorn moulds with them. Wonderful.... I managed not to smile too much.

We popped over to Ali and Stuart's next so that nana could see how the house was coming along, it's looking great, all they need is a kitchen now - they've been managing without since last October!
Back home in time for evening prayer, again by Zoom, I wonder how this will continue when we are back in church from this Sunday.

A quick dinner — everything seems to have had to be quick today, not quite spinning on the spot but it's seemed like it at times! This evening it was time for bridge, again by Zoom, how would we have managed without it! I was quite pleased with some of my play tonight, I certainly feel like I'm holding my own!
Finally off to bed, a bit of a stomach upset, but I think it's probably down to too many early rises and sleeping lightly with one ear open in case mum in law is up and about over night.

Keep well everybody, I'm trying to ignore the fact that Scotland has visitor from Westminster. I do wonder how he will be received.

Steps today, 9200
