Great Spotted Woodpecker
My organic box arrived this morning; it had been delayed from yesterday. Then Waitrose arrived and also the postman, so three deliveries all at the same time.
We watched Victoria’s presentation, this morning, via a system similar to Zoom, of her thesis before she presented it this afternoon. I have since had a text to say she felt it went well and then a further text to say she had scored ninety-five percent for her presentation.
My husband’s car passed its MOT without any work being done and there were no “advisories”. Dave from the garage is coming round, in August, to pump up one back tyre on Josephine. He will then drive her to the garage, get her fixed and take her for a run as she has not been anywhere since January. She has been started several times, just to make sure that the battery level is okay.
Today’s picture is of a Great Spotted Woodpecker. At first I thought it was a female, as I could not see any red on the back of its head. However, in one of the other pictures it is possible to see just a tiny patch of red, but it is very high up on its head. Looking at various pictures on the Internet, I now think it might be a juvenile with the red growing out, front the front of its head.
The temperature was twenty-two degrees Celsius at GMT noon; overcast and very little sun.
