Community cohesion from local school children.
I went to Oswaldtwistle Mills this morning on the train and enjoyed a good browse without buying anything. A few temptations were resisted but I need to save up for Mothers' Day.
I then walked to Accrington along the bus route and came across this amazing colourful boarding put in place to pretty up a piece of cleared land that will probably be built on at some stage.
The whole message, found at the foot of each polaroid photo reads like this:
The children of Sacred Hearts school say: "If we all pull together we can inspire everyone to take pride in our community.
What benefits our neighbourhood, benefits everyone, so it's good to be involved." All the pockets of green space are sadly disappearing.
Modern housing is replacing the old Victorian terraced properties.
This piece of artwork impressed me as it represented team spirit and community co-operativeness and art all rolled into one. It is the work of children at Sacred Hearts Primary school.
Splendid effort to brighten up an area that needs much investment to bring it into the modern times.
The cat statues in the centre of this collage were in the Mills shop and amused me.
I spent some time helping at One Planet and some generous customers came and shopped with us, inspite of the very cold weather.
