2053. Glamis Castle
We had a lovely start to our mini break with a gorgeous (and very naughty) cooked breakfast before heading out to Glamis Castle for a tour (socially distanced of course!). We’ve been to Glamis quite a few times but never inside the castle and it was a very interesting place to see. They now use a virtual tour that you open on your phone and it guides you around the various rooms. It’s a beautiful building and they were all geared up for lots of people by ensuring that you can only visit if you’ve pre-booked. It was getting quite busy when we left around mid day. We then headed out to Kirriemuir to visit Peel Farm which has a nice wee antique centre and even managed to buy an absolutely gorgeous new mirror for our hall. Stopped for a cuppa in their coffee shop and disappointed to see them not enforcing social distancing and no details taken despite us being inside. Lots of visitors seemed oblivious to the rules and people stood all over the place near to us when we were sitting down so we hurried our cuppa and headed out! Tried to find some waterfall near to Alyth on our way back but couldn’t see it so carried on back to the guesthouse. Hubby has had a lovely birthday so far and we have thoroughly enjoyed being away for the first time in 6 months.
