This half boat hides a tragic tale, as it once belonged to sailor Sam who, many years ago, would entertain the locals with his enthusiastic amateur magician act. Sadly, his 'sawing the lady in half' trick went badly wrong, and a distraught Sam was thereafter forced to give up his performances. In making the punishment fit the crime, Sam was also ordered to saw in half all of his boats, of which this was one.
I've made up all the above; it's actually what is referred to in the car trade as a 'cut and shut' where two accident write off vehicles are cut in half so that their respective good parts, left/right or front/back are welded together and illegally sold. Unfortunately the fish paste glue used on this was its undoing.
Half the lies I tell aren't true.

Many thanks to Marlieske for hosting Derelict Sunday.
