Rambutan

Jill discovered this fruit when we were at the grocery store in Altoona a few days ago. She said she had never had it. So we bought two packages, which have around eight of these each.

It's similar to lychee. You cut and peel away the hairy skin and eat the flesh inside. There's a pit. I felt like they were too much effort for little reward. The flavor is sweet but subtle. The skin of the pit is woody and gets stuck on the flesh. Jill liked them.
