Or as they say in Kilmarnock: "Affy wat wather wir' hivin' the noo." People think that because Kilmarnock is 20 odd miles south of Glasgow, that the tongue is the same. The accent might be similar, but the tongue is much broader. "Pit it oan the brace." (Put it on the mantelpiece.) "Ah jist jeloused it." (I just worked it out.) I lived and worked there for five happy years, and still have good friends there. It's where Rabbie Burns published his first book of poems.
