Learning to Fly

Not the best day for a flying lesson. Four baby swallows emerged from the nest yesterday. This one is looking up to the nest, getting very wet and plucking up the courage to have a go at flying up there. 
They are only a little bit smaller than their parents but not as streamlined and with much shorter tails. It must be quite squashed in the nest.

Posted off my old passport to get a new one. The publicity about the backlog at the Passport Office reminded me that mine runs out in July,  today in fact. I had started the process before lockdown but it was a real faff getting a photo that passes the test. Then. with all the excitement of lockdown and all  holidays canceled , I totally forgot.
