Star flower or carrion cactus

Not a true cactus but like one, and the weird star-shaped flower gives off a disgusting smell of rotting flesh. Definitely not a plant you'd want indoors when flowering! It loves hot dry weather so is in its element in the Greek summer.
This afternoon I visited a new Israeli friend who has a beautifully restored old house in the village. She and her daughter  managed to make it over here for a few weeks,  because they have German passports.
