Took this tonight to show my Mam how lamentably I am getting on with the embroidery I started in March.

Today was supposed to be a half day - with baking for a guest and gardening - but that didn’t quite happen. As well as several unexpected (but welcome) bits of work, there seems to be a lot of admin at the moment (though I possibly spent more time than it was worth saving a hundred quid on a currency transaction!)

Also lots of back blipping!

Later, after TallGirl had vacuumed the house, her pal from Germany arrived. She will be based here for a week to visit with us, and with the other friends she made here when she did an exchange last year.

Earlier I heard that one of my Aunties has died, not unexpected as she has been in poor health for much of her life, but the first of my Mum’s siblings to die, so a big thing nonetheless. A long call with my Mum tonight. Today is also their 57th wedding anniversary - a muted celebration though.
