Last light tonight

The rain was relentless today so it was mainly a day for indoors.
I went out to the florist to buy flowers for a friend and sat for a while at the reservoir listening to an audio book by Richard Holloway.
The rain cleared later and I spent some time pottering in the garden before making some brownies for J.
We walked out to the shore after 9pm - the screeching of the Arctic terns and the call of a skein of Canada geese added to the peaceful pleasure.
It's really hard to take in that the summer is nearly over and we haven't been far from home all year .
