It Sucks

The weather this July has been dismal - wet, windy and cool. Despite this, we have our first seed grown sunflower. And surprisingly, it is not the yellow shown on the seed packet, but a rather striking russet. And it has attracted the first bumblebee, although I had to hold the plant firmly as it was keeling over in the strong gusts.

NB. Yes, better to have managed to photo the whole bee, but it would not stay still. So a case of to bee or not to bee.
