A little disaster

I'm quite fond of little disasters - they're very helpful for avoiding big disasters.

Today my little kettle caught fire all by itself, filled the bedroom with smoke, shorted the electricity and tripped the fuses. The fire seemed to put itself out but it'll be the weekend before I can get the room clean and inhabitable.

This could have been a whole lot worse. It could have happened overnight, or the fire could have spread, Really very fortunate.
