Slow Salvage Effort
A long-ago-abandoned light-industrial home business ended up leaving a large amount of aluminum, mostly in small round disks, embedded in the ground. It's valuable for recycling, but has to be extracted from the dirt first. So, the "richest deposits" were moved by shovel into multiple garbage cans and plastic tubs. I'm sure there's still a lot left in the ground, but its harmless and not worth the trouble of extracting. And trouble it is, cleaning up the metal chips to the point where the scrap yard will accept them. Kinda burned out on the process for now, and letting rainwater do some of the work.
