Order! Order!

At the moment the garden and particularly the feeders are heaving with birds.   This years fledglings and parents now released from parental duties means there are lots and lots of birds of all species.

The numbers mean that desirable perches and places at the feeders are regularly contested.  At one point I looked out and there were 7 Greenfinches  (Carduelis chloris ) hanging round the feeders.   As you can imagine this lead to a degree of pushing and shoving.  Here two male Greenfinches almost come to blows over who should be getting a turn at the feeder.
