Tearing up the trails round Voss

Last day of the holiday in outdoor sports paradise Voss.

This is the memorial to Voss' fallen in Norway's independence fight in the 19th century with my youngest speeding past and the clouds clearing after a little squall on the lake.

---------------**************--------------------
A brilliant breakfast at Voss Youth Hostel - perfect for a post-run recovery - I was a bit sad we didn't have more time here. Then a full scale repack, including now thankfully dry tents, followed by a bit of shopping and an excellent light lunch in town.
In the afternoon, while the eldest and my husband went canoeing on the lake, I took the youngest biking round the forest trails outside Voss.
A lovely area to ride, beautiful white water and pine forests. We gorged on wild raspberries and bilberries and I was super proud of the 7 year-olds abilities on the bike. The track was great for learning how to use the bike gears and brakes, just what we needed.

Finally, it was time to pack up and head to the train. It was 90 minutes delayed unfortunately which meant arriving in Oslo after midnight but still one of the most spectacular rail journeys anywhere.
