twinned with trumpton

For the first time in a while, there was movement at early o'clock.

I hustled them through breakfast, into clothes and out onto bikes and up to the station. We RVed with Her and boarded a train bound for Dunblane (we got off at Camelon, though)

From there we headed out west about 6 miles along the Union Canal, past Camelon Juniors ground (Alex was delighted) and past the Falkirk Wheel, and on through bonny Bonnybridge - UFO sighting capital of the UK before She went off to visit her recently released fom hospital mother in Haggs. (Helpfully Her sister liveso nthe same street, so 2 birds / one stone)

Having treated the 1st hypo in ages (he's been steadily creeping up and finally the adjustments and exercise combined seem to have driven the numbers down and so require close monitoring...)

Armed with blood sugar at a respectable elvel and a tail wind, me and the lads set about pottering back to the station, via Anderson Park and the splashy bit at the Falkirk Wheel before hitting Tesco and a quick forage for some lunch ahead of the 1334 back to civilisation. (She met us at the station and we all slumped into our seats for half an hour of respite.)

A brief stop off on the edge of town - Decathalon at Hermiston Gait - before we went our separate ways and after briefly stopping to chat with Magi and Rowan who'd been skeleton spotting in Leith, we stoated in and slumped onto the sofa to draw breath.

Over 30km done on the bikes; a fair effort for little legs. And given I spent a fair chunk of the outward leg shoving Alex along into the fresh breeze, I too felt I'd ridden more.
