Sleepless night

I was up at 3:50 this morning. I went for my walk at just day break. This black-crowned night heron was strutting along a downed cedar tree in a cove up near the lighthouse. I guess it was headed to bed as I was getting up! I have seen them there before. This is the first one I have seen in several years though so it was worth getting up for! It was about 100 yards across the creek so I had to zoom quite a bit. No way to get there without a boat of some kind.
